last night was another fun filled handbell reherasal at this insane church. It was like these people had never seen the music before. We have a concert on sunday and I am wondering now if my music choices were a bit too ambitious for this group. Some days I just don't understand why things are so hard for people. WHAT IS SO #*@%ING DIFFICULT ABOUT TRIPLETS PEOPLE!!! Then I wonder if I am being too unreasonable or too demanding on these volunteers. But they seemed up to the challenge and I always try to balance high expecatations with an easy going atmosphere. It just didn't work last night. I was about ready to blow my top! Thoes of you who know me, please tell me if you think my directing style is too demanding or if I am being unreasonable to expect these people to:
A) show up on time
B) know their music
C) have their bells and chimes ready to go for the first song of rehearsal and not make us wait another 5 minutes after the 15 we waited for everyone to show up.
On another note: my deepest sympathies go out to Justin and Paul on the loss of Fatty their wonderful and beautiful kitty. It is a tough time of year to lose a friend. My love to you both...it is days like this that make the distance between us so unbearable.

Many thanks for your kind words. We can't wait to see you in two weeks. Just two!
And your expectations are not too high, even for volunteers.
Your expectations are not too high - they're just not acting like responsible adults. Think of them as junior highers and it will be more bearable.
Next time they're acting so stupidly just chant this mantra: "I finish my masters in one year, I finish my masters in one year..."
Paul,
I think your expectations and their expectations are misalligned. What do you think they want? Start where they are at and slowly change thier direction. You have to make it sound like it their idea and not yours. Coach not direct.
Just my thoughts....:)
