Why am I such a slacker

yes, yes, I know I've already published something today...just be grateful that you have more to read now. Today is the end of the 3rd quarter (yay drinks all around). So I SHOULD be doing grades and such. But I just don't wanna. Is that wrong? Instead I'm surfing the internet for fun things. Here's what I found:

A really cool flash website that has a cartoon to go along with Coltrane's "Giant Steps"

and something that I'm totally geeked about (even thought I think Microsoft windows is craptastic): A movie of what the new Office 2007 will look like...VERY COOL! The interface looks suspiciusly like the "Aqua" interface of the Mac...HMMMM. It looks great, althought I think the name they came up with for their new toolbar needs to be changed "ladies and Gentlemen I present "THE RIBBON". What? That's dumb. It's a tabbed interface dufuses. "The Ribbon"? C'mon with all that geek power at Microsoft I expect something more creative. So, join me in slacking off!

SWEET video. I love the sneak peak and am totally geeked out.

My favorite part? The "pre-made, beautiful footers." They really are nice footers--I oohed, but it just sounds funny. Like a bad pick-up line.

"Hey baby, those are some beautiful footers. Your footers really knock my socks off."

PS Julie Larson-Green needs to sit on her hands.

Oh, and Paul? You can post twice in one day. There exists no law, man-made or divine, that says otherwise. (Am I right on this Justin? Back me up here.)

Just to let everyone know, this is a typical video produced by Microsoft. It has a lot of Microsoft WOW in it. Don't get over excited about the features until the product ships and the tech mags have had a chance to review it. My prespective is that some of those features will actually slow down your creating documents. You are going to have to relearn things. I have been through way to many updates to products to get excited about a promotional video.

If you want more info, and from more sources then just Microsoft, let me know and I can send you some stuff.

Yea Dean I understand your point. I was thinking too that it will be a pain to re-learn everything since I am a "Power User". Plus, I've been reading that Office 2007 has been delayed and might have to become Office 2008.

Microsoft delayed the release of Office 12 until January of 2007. This was so that they could release both Windows Vista and Office 2007 at the same time. Since you are a Mac user...I would not hold my breath for a release of a new Microsoft Office version until at least 2008 or 2009. The video was a demo of the PC Version.
