Why wait for a special occasion? Meet your friends tonight at the Tally-ho! We are a classic Supper Club style restaurant right out of the forties, complete with the relish tray and crackers to start your dining experience.
Thus proclaims that website of the restaurant where I proposed to Elissa. Yes, it is a supper club style restaurant right out of the forties proven by the WWII surplus crackers on the table. On the website you'll see a picture of our illustrious hosts: Betsy and Tom. On the big night, Betsy dragged me into the kitchen to discuss the plan for how I was going to propose. We decided on me getting champagne from the bar when I was ready. Well, let's just say that Tom beat me to the punch on the champagne and on the proposal when he decided to congratulate us on our engagement...this was BEFORE I asked Elissa. Oops. Elissa and I have been laughing about this ever since it happened. They were SOOO excited that we choose their restaurant to do this, that they were practically falling over themselves to make it special. Kudos to them for providing us with a terrific story to tell. My review is that the food is so-so, but the floor show is not to miss. Thanks Betsy and Tom

Betsy and Tom look very nice. Good for you to take their eager, accidental slip with a grain of salt. [insert quip: "Salt? Where's the tequila?"]
And CONGRATULATIONS to you on your engagement. What exciting news!!! I toast to you both.
...Oh there I go with the alcohol references again. My bad.
